It's too dark because the fall is nearly 250 feets down. You can hear the water clashing all the way down against the concrete floor yet you can't see it. Not to worry though because you managed to hold onto the rim as you were spun around in the current over the rim. At some point when you try to swim away, the current pulls you back once more but this time you are too exhausted to react quickly and get sucked over the rim. You could've just held onto the rim from outside of the hole until help arrives but you decided to try and swim away from it and everytime the current brought you back against its lips. All you really manage to do is exhaust yourself trying to swim away. Problem is that by the point you realize just how bad this idea is you are pinned against the lips of the deep and dark hell hole that screams louder than a thousand voices. Oh shit, that's true there was a hole there i forgot about for a moment! You realize just how smart this idea of yours was and decide that maybe turning back wouldn't be a bad idea. Swimming is getting a bit to easy at this point and you are starting to wonder if perhaps you should represent your country in the next Olympics. Hey, I'm not exhausted from swimming anymore you tell yourself. As you get closer and closer to the spillway swimming gets easier. Sun is shining, weather is calm and the wind blows softly on your wet yet warm skin. You swim under the buoys and past all the warning signs and make it near the hole. You then get undressed and go on for a swim you may never come back from. Not the smartest idea but then again you were never known for being a smart person to begin with so not a lot of people would mourn your death anyway, you say to yourself. You decide one afternoon " hey let's go swim near the glory hole and see what happens if I fall into it ". Limit the use of engineering jokes.Ĭall for Engineers: Tell us about your job!
